Ingredients for loaded mac and cheese 

For the Meat

  • 1 lb smoked sausage or pulled pork
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Hearth Heroes BBQ Seasoning

For the Mac

  • 16 oz elbow macaroni
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup smoked gouda
  • 1 tsp Hearth Heroes BBQ Seasoning (Any flavor)

Toppings

  • Crispy bacon crumbles
  • Jalapeño slices
  • Green onions
  • BBQ sauce drizzle
  • Extra Hearth Heroes seasoning

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sear sausage or pulled pork with Hearth Heroes BBQ Seasoning until caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in the same skillet. Whisk in flour for 1 minute. Slowly add milk while whisking.
  4. Stir in cheeses until smooth and creamy. Add BBQ seasoning.
  5. Fold in macaroni and meat.
  6. Top with bacon, jalapeños, green onions, and a light BBQ drizzle.
  7. Bake at 400°F for 10–15 minutes or serve straight from the skillet.
